Joe Wagner is President
and founder of Pacific Staging Company, Inc., a live event staging
company.
Founded in 1991, Pacific Staging has elevated the planning and preproduction
of live events to new levels. 3D CAD and photo realistic renderings
enable clients to virtually tour their events before they ever arrive
on location.
According to Joe Wagner, "... Although we own and supply clients
with all of the equipment needed to stage large corporate events,
we are all about the planning that we put into a live events, and
how we get there.... that is what sets us apart from other companies
….our approach helped us land the Sony National Sales Meeting
as well as many other notable corporate events. Every year for Optionetics
we plan and stage their event for 2500 people... General Sessions,
Trade Show area, Breakout Rooms and a Theater......and for Deltek
from Washington DC, we plan and stage their General Session of 3850
with up to 60 breakout rooms all with complex set-ups in every room...sound
systems, wireless mics, video projectors with multiple sources, screens,
dress kits…each room a complete set-up within itself. In 2001,
Presenting Communications Magazine voted our planning and staging
for the Cisco Partner Summit the Top Staged Event of the year. Most
all of the events and shows that we plan and stage involve some type
of scenery …and we supply custom built and stock scenery modules
that can be re-arranged to suit the application and budget....at different
price points". Our market is generally large, corporate events.
Joe has worked

"When I started in the business, I asked a friend who they knew; someone
that I could depend on ...and that someone was Ozzie. At the time,
he was working at another company and essentially I rented cameras
and purchased tape stock for ENG shoots. Ozzie and Deborah started

both technically and with the gear that they offer...I've found that
it is much simpler to rent cameras, which I do to this day. It makes
more sense...the gear gets used heavily on an event...and very little
between shows. Also, we tend to use long lenses, which can really
add to the cost of cameras for quality lenses. The support gear that
we rent from Broadcast Rentals runs the gamut...switchers, projectors,
scopes, decks...depending on what the client's needs are."
