Broadcast Rentals' New Facility
|
Look
for Broadcast Rentals' new facility
in the summer of '06. Conveniently located
at the SR143 and University Drive in
Tempe, Arizona, the building will accommodate
Broadcast Rentals' need for expansion.
"After 12 years of continuous grow,
it was time to find a better, easy to
find location...one that would be centrally
located in the Phoenix metro area and
close to Sky Harbor Airport. We also
wanted a building that would accommodate
future expansion. We will occupy about
a third of the 20,000 square feet of
space and offer rental space for the
rest". Deborah Smith, Co-Owner.
"The new building will give us
more room for staging, pulling and checking
out equipment… to make workflow
more efficient. The added space will
allow us to grow as we continue to offer
the highest possible level of service
for our clients". Stephen "OZ"

The facility will improve access for
customers loading and unloading equipment.
In addition, Broadcast Rentals will
be offering a dedicated editing suite
with HD compatible Final Cut Pro 5 with
Motion and Production Suite. Output
will be available to any digital video
format. This flexible editing facility
will offer clients the ability to edit
on their own, or with the assistance
of a Broadcast Rentals technician.

Lumen Theater Projector
The EIKI LC-XT3 XGA Theater
Projector delivers an impressive 10,000
ANSI Lumens brightness from a 2-man
transportable that runs on 15 amp "household"
current. |

The
LC-XT3's high brightness results from
the use of a 4 x 250 Watt UHP lamp
system, which provides stable illumination
and color temperature over the life
of the lamps. The result is illumination
uniformity of 90%, and an impressive
1100:1 contrast ratio.
The LC-XT3 incorporates professional
features, including 5-BNC and DVI-I
data inputs, compatibility with all
HD video standards, digital video
noise reduction, and enhanced progressive
scan circuitry with compatibility
up to 1080i with 2-3 pull down support.
Inputs are modular, for rapid reconfiguration.
In addition to the standard data and
video input modules, an Up converter
video module, HD-SDI and SD-SDI decoders,
and a PjNET network interface are
available.
The LC-XT3 projects images up to 40'
wide, and accepts a range of zoom
and fixed focus lenses, both manual
and powered, ranging from 0.8:1 to
9.5:1.

VTR with Fire wire
The Panasonic AJ-HD1200A HD is the world's
first VTR to offer HD input and output
via an IEEE 1394 digital interface.
The compact, AC/DC-powered AJ-HD1200A
is ready for a host of active
uses. |

This versatile
HD VTR plays all DVCPRO formats (both
NTSC and PAL),
including DVCPRO HD-LP, and can down-convert
HD signals for output as SD signals,
allowing its use as both an HD and
SD viewer.
With
its 1080/24p (25p) conversion and
output function for Varicam sources,
the AJ-HD1200A meets needs in HD cinema
production.

to Operate Switcher
The Sony DFS-700A is an ideally proportioned,
easy-to-operate switcher incorporating
the latest digital multi effects. It
offers the precision of full component
digital processing, all the creativity
of hundreds of preset special effects,
and the flexibility of 16:9 or 4:3 operation. |

DFS-700A accommodates a wide range
of signal input/output requirements.
The DFS-700A is well suited for a
wide range of applications including
Post Production, EFP/ENG, Live Production
and Sports.

Faces Behind the Service
At Broadcast
Rentals, superior service is only as
good as the people who deliver it. To
this end we are proud to feature team
members from our Phoenix and San Diego
offices. |
Dave
Weise , Phoenix office
Dave is originally from Kailua Ohahu,
Hawaii. Prior to joining Broadcast Rentals,
Dave studied for his Associate Arts
degree in video production. His planning,
staging, set-up and technical knowledge
are derived from 6 years of experience
with the Audio-Visual industry in the
Phoenix hotel and resort market.

Dave
recognized the opportunity offered at
Broadcast Rentals to expand his knowledge
in video production and event support.
He is now in charge of all staging of
shows, A/V events, crewing, and production
coordination for live events. He fields
many of the questions on projection
related issues.
In Dave's words, "… Sharing
my knowledge and helping customers understand
the equipment that they are renting
from us is key…thinking creatively
and sharing whatever knowledge I have.
A large part of what I do from day to
day is offering lessons on the gear
that we work with. This gives clients
"hands-on" experience with
the equipment and it supports our efforts
here at Broadcast Rentals because they
will come back to use the gear that
they have become accustomed to using".
Dave is an avid gardener, enjoys cooking
new recipes and adds to his tattoos
